17 May 2016

During March & April 2016, Atlas Professionals successfully passed a series of recertification audits against ISO 9001:2008 quality and VCU 2011/05 health & safety standards. The Atlas ISO certificate encompasses 27 entities, across 9 countries, and confirms compliance with international, regulatory and industry standards, including the Maritime Labour Convention MLC 2006.

Success in Safety

Atlas Professionals’ QHSE systems are an essential part of day-to-day operations and are key to ensuring the delivery of consistent quality services to our clients. Auditors from the corporation Bureau Veritas visited Atlas’ head office in Hoofddorp in the Netherlands (NL) as well Atlas offices in Capelle (NL), Urk (NL), Singapore, Odessa (Ukraine), and Newquay (UK).

Atlas were successful in recertifying to both standards which provide customers with reassurance of a high level of service and compliance, as well as meeting international health and safety standards.

Continual Improvement

Over the next 2-year period, Atlas Professionals will be adopting the new ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard.

Atlas’ QHSE Manager, Kate Knott, explains the importance in moving to this new standard for the company.

“With an innovative management system, the additional requirements of the new standard, namely “Leadership”: involvement of senior management; and “Risk”: a risk-based approach; are fully supported by the organisation, and will further establish Atlas as an organisation with reputable management practice.

Furthermore, the concept of self-governance enables organisations such as Atlas to focus on its strengths, ensuring that we are able to provide professionals with the best opportunities, and clients with the best professionals.”
