Broome local Advanced Standing Deck Cadet (ASDC) Calvin Tolentino was recently deployed on board the Polarcus Naila, a seismic survey vessel currently conducting survey operations in the Timor Sea. Broome, Australia - On the 9th of May 2018 two Aboriginal Local Broome residents Calvin and Simon commenced their journey as Advanced Standing Deck Cadets. This pathway allows the already qualified Integrated Ratings to complete eight months sea time offshore as Understudy of Navigational Watch before commencing the Diploma of Maritime Operations (Deck Watchkeeper) at Swan Maritime in Fremantle in 2020.
